Take a Hike…With a Gravel Travel Detour, Part 2

I’ve been to Brushy numerous times and I usually come in from the south end and hike on the east side of the lake for a bit before switching over to the trail that runs south of the spillway. But on this trip I decided I wanted to hike the north side of the lake trail. I’m never disappointed in the trails here. I hiked one section before I realized I didn’t really want to hike any further south along the water, so I turned around and tried to pick up the trail to the north. Unfortunately, I couldn’t quite get them to connect, so I hopped back in my car and parked near another trail head. This section had a bridge over the water and a bit more challenging terrain (read: hills). By the time I traversed this section I was feeling it. It was nearing 3 p.m. and knowing that the sun was going to be disappearing on me before long, I decided to call it a day and head back to the car.

The drive back home didn’t give me any photo-ops, but I was so over the moon with the luck I’d had earlier in the day that I wasn’t the least bit disappointed. For a very unplanned, spur of the moment trip, it couldn’t have turned out better. I’m absolutely giddy over all of the shots I got on this trip. I hope y’all have enjoy them as much as I did taking them!
