Artsy: Twirl Effect

What is the twirl effect? Well, in short, it’s art from art. Pick a photo, manipulate it in Photoshop, and voila! Ok, so it’s a bit more involved than that, but once you add some radial blur and some twists and twirls in various directions, then adjust each layer’s blending mode, you end up with a final product that is an interesting abstract of your original image.

These were a lot of fun to play with. I included the original photo below each “twirled” photo. I might have gone a bit off the rails with the last image and tried out a few other setting options…forgive me, I was having so much fun!

What do y’all think? Is this something you think I should play around with more? Drop me a note in the comments!
