I’m not overly fond of the cold, but give me a camera and I’ll make the best of it.
This year I wanted to try to stretch my photographic abilities and try to capture some snowflakes. Now, since I don’t have a fancy macro lens, I had to try this using some magnifying filters. Out of about 50 shots (hey, it was cold, blowing, and I didn’t have the necessary patiences to stick with it too long), I managed to get one that I really liked, all things considered.
This is definitely something I’d like to try again in the future. I learned that I likely would have had better success with larger flakes and on a day where the wind wasn’t quite as vicious. Unfortunately, the days I was home and had the time to experiment, that type of snow didn’t happen.
I did a quick scan of the yard to see if anything else caught my eye, but I was so cold and frustrated by the snowflake fiasco (I really should’ve done that last), that the snowy pine tree was all I found worthy of my time.
