There’s nothing quite like a county fair. The smell of fried food and farm animals, browsing through the antique tractors, watching the ferris wheel spin, and admiring the 4-H kid’s hard work in the form of photography, baked goods, and hand-made projects rounds out the experience.
The Plymouth County Fair in Le Mars, Iowa, is a great fair to experience. It’s the perfect size with plenty to see and do.
I’m such a sucker for antique tractors–these with the flags begged to be frozen in time. I’d also been on the hunt for a ferris wheel to photograph and finally found a fair that had one! I was pretty pleased that the sky cooperated and some big puffy clouds graced me with their presence.
